On 25 November, a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council was held at Sumy National Agrarian University. The issues discussed included the strategy discussed at the meeting at the Ministry of Education and Science, the results of the 2024 admission campaign, and research issues. At the beginning of the Academic Council, the Rector of SNAU Ihor KOVALENKO had a pleasant mission – to award two students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Yevhen REDKO and Taras GEIKO received a 2nd degree diploma from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for winning the International Student Professional Creative Competition ‘Materials Science’.
After that, Marharyta LYSHENKO, Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Academic Affairs, addressed the audience. She spoke about the meeting of rectors and vice-rectors of Ukrainian higher education institutions at the Ministry of Education and Science. As a result of this meeting, a strategy for the development of higher education in the country was discussed. Now, in addition to safety, great importance is attached to the quality of education. As Rector Ihor KOVALENKO noted:
‘Nowadays, the issue of quality training of students is being raised more and more often. For us, as a border university, the safety of all participants in the educational process remains a priority, but we model different situations so that our students graduate from the SNAU as real specialists.’
