2020-2021 academic year is unusual for everyone, but most of all for those who first moved
from school to the student community. In order to make the adaptation of freshmen of Sumy National
Agrarian University as easy as possible, SNAU team conducted some events oriented to acquainting first-
year students with the university where they study. For two weeks, in compliance with the quarantine
requirements, some lectures for freshmen were held.
During the event they were introduced with SNAU brand – mission, vision, symbols. Attention
was also paid to the fact that it is important to know the names of teachers, the dean, the rector and
vice-rectors from the first days. The freshmen were told about an interesting history of SNAU
development: from the branch of the Kharkiv Agricultural Institute to the European educational center
of the national level. Representatives of the international department delivered information about the
possibilities of foreign traineeship.
In addition, SNAU graduates and now university staff shared the secrets with freshmen how to
obtain reward, including financial, for successful study and participation in research.
We hope that this acquaintance will help freshmen to feel more confident and make the most of
the opportunities offered by studying at Sumy National Agrarian University.
