MEETING ON LOGISTICS AND SAFETY OF HARVESTING CROPS

Sumy National Agrarian University hosted a meeting on logistics and security of harvesting crops. The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, structural units of the Sumy Regional State Administration (Department of Agricultural Development, Department of Economic Development and Trade, Department of Infrastructure Development, Department of Defence Law and Order, Department of Civil Protection), territorial units (Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy Region, State Tax Service in Sumy Region, Main Public Emergency Service in Sumy region), commercial companies, the representatives of Sumy NAU and others  were among the invited members.

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskii greeted everyone, noting that there were problems directly related to the war – occupation of territories, hot phase of hostilities, minefields, destruction of seeds, equipment and property. There are also difficulties with logistics, supply of fuel, seeds, fertilizers. The Head of the Region stressed that today the agrarian business was the basis of support for our armed forces, voluntary formations of the territorial community.

Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University Volodymyr Ladyka stressed that the logistics structure in the agricultural sector was quite complex, it had a number of subsystems of interaction, and in times of war the issue was much more complex. In particular, the combination of harvesting, inventory planning, storage, warehousing, resource provision, order planning, supply and marketing, and the creation of new production, economic and commercial links were the priorities of today for workers in the agro-industrial sector.

Andrii Oleynikov, First Deputy Head of the Main Public Emergency Service of Ukraine in Sumy Oblast, reported on the issue of fire safety during the harvest of crops.

Roman Tokar, Deputy Chief of Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy Region emphasized on the importance of compliance with the rules of large agricultural machinery movement and work at night.

They also discussed the urgent issue of providing fuels and lubricants for the period of harvesting and alternative energy supply.

Volodymyr Dudchenko, Director of the Infrastructure Development Department of the Sumy Regional State Administration, reported on the peculiarities of domestic and export grain transportation.

Rector of Sumy NAU Volodymyr Ladyka also shared good news. The University received 60 scholarships from the German Rotary Club of Bavaria, which is the main unit of Rotary International activity.
