Famous Ukrainian architects of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture – People’s Architect of Ukraine, President of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Full Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Architecture Oleh Slieptsov and member of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, President of the Union of Urbanists of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, “Honored Architect of Ukraine” Mykola Domin.
The artists arrived in Sumy at the invitation of the head of the regional state administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi in order to prepare for the All-Ukrainian open architectural competition on the project of reconstruction of the main square of the region and modernization of the city center. The competition will be announced in February: the winner will receive UAH 150,000, UAH 100,000 for the second place and UAH 50,000 for the third place. The winning project will be implemented at the expense of the state, regional and city budgets of Sumy. Oleh Slieptsov will be the chairman of the competition commission.
Given that SNAU has a strong potential to participate in the competition , Oleh Slieptsov, Mykola Domin and Director of the Regional Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of Sumy Volodymyr Bykov visited the University at the invitation of Rector Volodymyr Ladyka and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture and SNAU. The high level of training, which has been repeatedly confirmed by victories in various architectural competitions, creative interaction and skill in the architectural work of our students will give them the opportunity to participate in the All-Ukrainian open architectural competition and win the prize.
