SNAU SCIENTISTS TOOK PART IN THE CONFERENCE IN POLAND

Last week, the University of Natural Sciences in Lublin (Poland) hosted an international scientific and practical conference “Native breeds of animals as an important element in protecting biodiversity, preserving regional traditions and producing foods of high value for health.” The scientific event was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the scientific activity of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Zhygmund Lytvynchuk. The conference was attended by scientists from different European countries, including Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia.

The conference was also attended by scientists of our university, led by the Rector, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor V. Ladyka. He made a report on “Genetic resources of Ukraine and prospects for the preservation of local breeds of cattle.” In his report, the Rector also touched upon the peculiarities of preserving the Lebedyn breed of cattle, which is typical for the Sumy region.
