The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated annually on February 11 by UNO decision. December 20, 2013, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on Science, Technology and Innovation for Development, which recognized equal access for women and girls of all ages to the achievement and development of science, technology and innovation as a guarantee of gender equality in this field.
Sumy NAU deeply honors women-scientists of our university. They have contributed much not only into Ukrainian science. Their scientific achievements are well known over the world. On the occasion of this holiday they received the gratitude from the Rector of SNAU. We would like to write some words about these scientists.
Nelly Semenivna Kozhushko, Professor of the Selection and Seed farming Department, Doctor of Agricultural Science, Professor. She is the author of more than 20 varieties of potatoes of domestic selection, listed in the State Register of Plant Varieties.
Victoria Hryhorivna Skliar, the Head of the Ecology and Botany Department, a Doctor of Biological Science, Professor. More than 30 projects, which deal with territories and objects of the Nature Reserve Fund creation, were fulfilled.
Tetiana Ivanivna Fotina, the Head of the Veterinary Expertise, Microbiology, Zooghygiene and Safety and Quality of Livestock Products Department, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor. She was an academic advisor for 7 Doctors of Veterinary Science and 17 Candidates of Veterinary Science.
Liubov Ivanivna Mikhailova , Professor of Department of Management, Doctor of Economics, Professor. She was an academic advisor for 5 Doctors of Economics and 20 Candidates of Economic Science.
Yulia Mykolaivna Pavlenko, the Head of the Department of Technology of Production and Processing of Products of Animal Husbandry and Cynology, Candidate of Agricultural Science, Associate Professor. She is the chief executor of fundamental scientific research of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the preserving of cattle populations.
Aliona Mykolaivna Klochko, the Head of the Department of International Relations, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor. The leader in the number of publications in Scopus Science database (16 articles). She is a Head of Applied Topics for Young Scientists of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Viktoria Yuriivna Medvid, Professor of Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship, Doctor of Economics, Professor. She worked out the socio-economic development forecasts for districts and cities of Sumy region. She is also a Head of Applied Topics for Young Scientists of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Larysa Ivanivna Kalachevska, Associate Professor of Management Department, Doctor of Economics. She is the initiator and coordinator of 9 international projects, including ERASMUS KA 2.
Olha Heorhiivna Bordunova, Professor of Biochemistry and Biotechnology Department, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor. She is the author of 12 patents for the invention. She is also a Head of Applied Subjects of MES of Ukraine.
