\u201cActive Citizens\u201d<\/strong> is a British Council program for youth focused on intercultural dialogue and social development, implemented in Ukraine since 2014. The project \u201cStrengthening Cross-Sectoral Cooperation for Social Cohesion\u201d (SC3)<\/strong> is a 36-month initiative aimed at effectively addressing challenges and leveraging development opportunities at the local level by improving cooperation between civil society organizations (CSOs) and local authorities (LAs) in Ukraine. The project is implemented by the British Council in partnership with three experienced co-applicant CSOs: \u201cStrong Community\u201d NGO<\/strong>, \u201cYouth Platform\u201d NGO<\/strong>, and the Kherson Regional Charitable Foundation \u201cObiednannia\u201d<\/strong>, located in the east, west, and south of Ukraine respectively. The project is conducted across all government-controlled areas of Ukraine, including the government-controlled territories (GCT) of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Union<\/strong> is represented by the European Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The British Council<\/strong> is an international organization from the United Kingdom that operates in over 100 countries across six continents. Its mission is to expand cultural relations and promote educational opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The project also received support from the Department for Youth and Sports of Sumy Regional State Administration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As part of the above-mentioned program, a project by young researchers from Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU)<\/strong> titled \u201cCultural and Tourist Route of the Lishchynski Heritage\u201d<\/strong> was selected for implementation at the Lishchynski estate in the village of Kyianytsia, Sumy region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Olena Serhiivna Melnyk<\/strong> \u2013 PhD in Technical Sciences, Head of the International Projects Sector, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Botany<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The goal of the project<\/strong> is to promote green tourism in the village of Kyianytsia, foster environmental awareness among youth, and encourage a modern understanding of the history of the Sumy region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Planned activities under the project include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Planting over 100 decorative trees and shrubs in the park area of the estate<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Installing informational stands with QR codes along the cultural-tourist route to enhance accessibility, especially for visitors with visual impairments<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Adding benches and waste bins throughout the estate grounds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
