Teachers of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport of SNAU Completed an Internship in Poland

Oleksandr SOLARIOV, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transportation of Sumy National University, and Nataliia Sribniak, Deputy Dean for Research, took part in an international conference at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, Poland.

The training was held in accordance with the cooperation agreement between Sumy NAU and the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa (http://surl.li/tyjpp) and the academic mobility agreement (http://surl.li/tyjpu). The documents provide for international educational internships for students and teachers under the Erasmus+ programs and are valid until 2029.

This time, the staff of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transportation of SNAU attended a four-day conference on “Artificial Intelligence at Universities – a boon or a bane?” as part of the Erasmus Week – 14th International Staff Training Week.

The rich program of events brought together more than 50 representatives of universities from 20 countries for joint communication, discussions, and exchange of experience.

The main topic for discussion was the use of artificial intelligence, its advantages and disadvantages. It is difficult to overestimate its relevance in the context of learning and teaching. In particular, such platforms help to personalize the acquisition of knowledge and automate testing and evaluation. Artificial intelligence makes it possible to involve interactive programs and tasks in the learning process, and ensures the effective functioning of inclusive education.

As part of the event, Oleksandr SOLARIOV delivered a presentation on “Modern navigation programs and the practice of their application in transport technologies” and Nataliia SRIBNIAK delivered a presentation on “Joint behavior of prefabricated ribbed slabs”. The Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transportation of Sumy National University shares his impressions on the official Facebook page:

“It was an honor and a thrill to give a guest lecture to students, but the topic ‘Modern navigation programs and the practice of their application in transport technologies’ interested them and we had an additional discussion of topical issues.”

The conference participants say they are satisfied with the experience. They will definitely implement the new knowledge and skills in the educational process and research. Dean of the Faculty Oleksandr SOLARIOV additionally notes that the conference was the beginning of a fruitful partnership and the basis for effective cooperation.
