At the beginning of the Academic Council meeting, those present marked the painful third anniversary of the start of the full-scale invasion with a minute of silence for those who died from Russian aggression. The students called for support for the military and volunteers, as well as for unity in this difficult time. Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we all now have the opportunity to study and work.
A great pride for the university, despite modern conditions, is the full-time receipt of a Doctor of Philosophy degree in specialty 073 “Management” by a foreign student, Joshua Linus Baca. The Academic Council considered the applications for academic titles and positions of scientific and pedagogical workers of the SNAU. The Academic Council also supported the work and the team of authors to participate in the competition for the National Prize of Ukraine named after Borys Paton in 2025.
Vice-Rector for Economic and Business Activities, Mykola KOVALENKO, introduced the attendees to the student budget for 2025.
Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Educational Work, Margarita LYSHENKO, presented the results of the winter assessment and examination session, and the results of the survey of higher education applicants.
Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Activities, Yuriy DANKO, reported on the issues of the university’s scientific and research activities and presented measures for its further development. The Deans – Svitlana LUKASH and Oleh ROHOVENKO, respectively, reported on the activities of the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Faculty of Law. Both noted that in 2024 a number of measures were implemented to repair premises, activate the work of student self-government of the faculties, the state of scientific work and grant applications.
Olha ROHOVENKO, director of the Sumy Vocational College of SNAU, also reported to the attendees, who spoke about the renovation of the first floor of the dormitory, which suffered from Russian aggression about three years ago; about plans for landscaping the territory; about work on opening new competitive educational programs that will expand the existing range of college services; and about the desire to cooperate even more closely with the university so that as many students as possible choose SNAU for their further studies.
The report on anti-corruption activities for 2024, as well as the anti-corruption plan for 2025, was delivered by the leading specialist in the prevention and detection of corruption at SNAU, Mykhailo PYRKHA. He noted that the overall situation at the university is stable and shared his thoughts on its improvement.
