INCLUSIVE EMPLOYMENT PARTNERSHIP MEETING TOOK PLACE IN SUMY REGION

Today, 02.02.2022 in the format of ZOOM-conference, the first meeting of the partnership on inclusive employment in Sumy region took place. The initiators of the partnership were Sumy Regional State Administration, Sumy Regional Employment Center, Sumy National Agrarian University. Such a partnership is a part of the activities planned in the framework of the International Labor Organization project “Enhancing Employment Opportunities Through the Development of Green and Craft Tourism within the Tourist Triangle of Sumy region.” The partnership aims to develop and continue its active work even at the end of the project, expanding areas of cooperation, including new promising sectors of the economy, involving other communities of Sumy region.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Sumy Regional State Administration, Sumy Regional Employment Center and their branches in communities, Sumy National Agrarian University, Deputy Heads of Territorial Communities and project partners.

Taras Savchenko, First Deputy Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, said about the importance of social dialogue and cooperation between communities in the field of tourism development in the region. During the meeting Volodymyr Pidlisnyi, the Director of the Sumy Regional Employment Center, was elected as a Chairman of the Board of the Partnership; Olena Melnyk, a Project Manager, the Head of the International Projects Department of Sumy National Agrarian University, was elected as a Deputy Chairman of the Partnership. The Board of the Partnership includes 13 signatories of the Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation on the Development of an Inclusive Labor Market in Sumy Oblast. Currently, the Partnership consists of 29 people, who represent the parties of the project.

The participants approved the Regulations on the Inclusive Employment Partnership, presented the first results of monitoring the project implementation, acquainted the participants with promising business projects developed by the participants of the training “Start Your Own Business”. During the meeting, a Project Manager, Deputy Chairman of the Partnership, Olena Melnyk presented the first results of monitoring the implementation of the project “Expanding Employment Opportunities Through the Development of Green and Craft Tourism within the Sumy Tourist Triangle”, pointed out to the importance of business involvement project. Oleksandr Kovalenko acquainted the audience with promising business projects developed by the participants of the “Start Your Own Business” trainings and encouraged communities to become more involved in supporting entrepreneurship.

Summing up the results of the meeting Taras Savchenko expressed confidence that the newly created Partnership, as well as the project as a whole, will help create jobs, increase self-employment of Sumy region, the formation of new tourist facilities and routes, which in turn will attract investment in the development of rural areas, improving living standards.
