Every year on February 16, Ukraine will celebrate a new holiday at the state level – Unity Day. The relevant decree was published on the website of the head of state.
The State Flags of Ukraine and the National Anthem was hoisted on all administrative buildings across the country, and in Sumy these events took place on Independence Square.
More than 500 Sumy residents joined the festivities, including more than 50 students and staff of Sumy National Agrarian University. Together with the townspeople, the students took part in the march, unfurled a 30-meter flag and put on blue and yellow ribbons of unity. Bondarenko – First Deputy Mayor and V. Fedorchenko – Assistant Deputy Mayor congratulated the audience on the holiday.
