Sumy National Agrarian University hosted a national round table “Ukrainian higher education institutions during the war: eyewitness stories, opinions of leaders, reflections on the future”.
The co-organizer of the event is the All-Ukrainian public organization “Innovation University”. The speakers of the event were representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, People’s Deputies of Ukraine, rectors and vice-rectors of educational institutions from different regions of Ukraine.
The event aimed to unite higher education institutions, politicians and public figures in order to address pressing issues regarding the preservation of the educational potential of higher education institutions in Ukraine. The round table was also the final stage of the Winter School.
Professional moderation of the event was provided by professors TarasFinikov and OlesiaVashchuk.
VolodymyrLadyka, Rector of Sumy NAU, addressed the audience with an introductory speech: “Unfortunately, it is sad to talk about this, but the words “war”, “depopulation” and “mobilization”are new concepts in our reality. Sumy region has its own specifics, because we live in deoccupied territory. It is important that today we have the opportunity to work on the restoration of the educational process and think about how to rebuild the country, use all opportunities to preserve higher education institutions”.
