Trench candles are a source of light and warmth for our brave soldiers who protect Ukrainians on the front lines.
During a short period of time, Sumy National Agrarian University together with the separate structural unit “Sumy Professional College of SNAU” managed to collect cans and corrugated cardboard for the production of more than 335 trench candles as part of the “WarmupAFU” (“ZihriimoZSU”) campaign.
Together, we managed to save 7,400 hryvnias, which the organizers of the volunteer campaign spent on the purchase of paraffin.
Concerned students and teachers, united by the spirit of patriotism, joined the production: they independently cut strips of cardboard, twisted it and placed it in cans. Then the blanks were filled with liquid paraffin.
On the 23rd of October, 2022, all 335 trench candles were handed over to the military, to the front line.
