THE AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY IN UKRAINE YAĞMUR AHMET GÜLDERE HELD A WORKING MEETING IN SNAU

On the 27th of October, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yağmur Ahmet Güldere arrived in the city of Sumy to deliver humanitarian aid and establish further diplomatic ties with the Sumy Region.

The press briefing of the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Zhyvytskii, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine, Yağmur Ahmet Güldere, took place at Sumy National Agrarian University.

Together with the leadership of SNAU, the Ambassador visited the Center for collective use of scientific equipment for the latest agricultural technologies “Laboratory of Ecological Agriculture and Nature Management”. The guest was incredibly interested in the idea of ​​cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey in the field of greenhouse modernization.

During the press briefing, topical issues were raised: humanitarian aid, winter clothing for the military, provision of generators.

The Ambassador expressed confidence that the Republic of Turkey will support Ukraine and, in particular, Sumy region during the difficult winter military season.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yağmur Ahmet Güldere did not overlook the education of students from Turkey at the Sumy NAU, thanked the staff of the institution and the Head of the Sumy RMA for the efforts they made to evacuate the students:

“We cooperated very fruitfully with the leadership of Sumy region and SNAU when students were evacuated in the first days of the war. And I would like to thank you again for helping us so much during this period. I would like to point out that Turkey will definitely continue to help both Ukraine and Sumy region.”

They also discussed the possibility of international cooperation between the Republic of Turkey and young scientists of Sumy National Agrarian University. Dmytro Zhyvytskii, the Head of Sumy RMA, in turn, noted: “Turkish experience in the field of growing vegetables and fruits will be useful, and we are currently discussing the possibilities of cooperation to open greenhouse areas on the territory of SNAU, where scientific developments will be carried out in the interests of both Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey.”

We are incredibly grateful to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yağmur Ahmet Güldere and the Head of the Sumy RMA Dmytro Zhyvytskii for their visit to the Sumy National Agrarian University. We sincerely hope for the possibility of further cooperation on the scientific front.
