On January 27, 2024, Iryna Andriivna VERESHCHUK, Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, visited Sumy National Agrarian University. She visited the Business School for combatants and veterans, which was established this year on the basis of our educational institution to help veterans adapt to civilian life and actively participate in the development of the country.
Sumy Business School is a structural subdivision of the University, which is focused on implementing the ideas of students’ understanding of the business system, the external context and environment in which the company operates; developing leadership skills, learning to work in a team, understanding business ethics; acquiring communication skills and other unified skills necessary for a modern entrepreneur; providing psychological and pedagogical assistance in making decisions about professional choices and creating conditions for citizens’ readiness for social, professional and cultural self-determination. All premises are equipped for easy access for people with disabilities.
Nowadays 26 participants have been enrolled in the short-term Entrepreneurship and Business Planning program, including 11 combatants and persons with war-related disabilities; 15 family members of combatants, people with war-related disabilities and perished servicemen.
Speaking to the course participants, Iryna VERESHCHUK said:
“This is one of the first business schools of this level in Ukraine. However, we realize that today we need to create many more of them and they should be fully adapted to the needs of people affected by the war.”
In his post on the official Facebook page, Rector Volodymyr LADYKA wrote:
“While working on the idea of creating Sumy Business School, we considered it as a growth point for any business. That is, our educational proposals are based on several key areas that help to establish a successful business: planning, marketing strategy, grant activity, and information technology.”
