What kind of dream university is it? What specialty can you choose? When is it necessary to submit documents and take entrance exams? How can you be sure of a successful career in your specialty? These questions worry every applicant. All worries were dispelled by the employees of SNAU during the Open Door Day held on April 6.
School and college graduates, their parents and teachers gathered within the walls of the Sumy National Agrarian University. It is worth noting that the event was held in compliance with safety requirements, in a newly equipped bomb shelter.
Applicants began their acquaintance with SNAU on the career guidance platform “Choose the future together with SNAU”. Here they learned about the faculties and specialties, the course of study and future employment prospects, got to know the guarantors of the educational programs.
The entrants’ forum became the official ceremonial part of the event. Ihor KOVALENKO, vice-rector for scientific, pedagogical and educational work, gave a welcome speech from the university administration, who once again emphasized the importance of obtaining higher education and supporting the educational front of Ukraine.
One of the advantages of SNAU is a wide network of international partners and the possibility of trips abroad for the purpose of practical training of knowledge or exchange of experience. Larysa KALACHEVSKA,the head of the international cooperation department, spoke about the main aspects of academic mobility. She focused the applicants’ attention on the possibilities of double master’s degrees, a virtual semester and a summer school at HSWT University (Germany).
Viktor SERHIIENKO, the responsible secretary of SNAU admissions committee, answered all the questions of young people regarding admission in 2024 and reported on this year’s innovations.
Stakeholder, director of the Sumy branch of the joint-stock company “Ukrtelecom” (Sumy) Oleh RADCHENKO shared information about the improvement and adjustment of educational programs.
Vadym RAPUTA, a 2012 graduate of Sumy National University, technical manager of the operation department of the machine-tractor fleet of Monsanta LLC Ukraine, proved that it is only one step from obtaining a high-quality thorough education to a quick career takeoff. The man says that he applied absolutely all the knowledge he received at the university in practice directly at the workplace.
Being a student of SNAU is cool! The student rector, Diana DEREVIANCHENKO, convinced the applicants that science is not the only thing the university can be proud of. You can have rich extracurricular leisure time waiting for every entrant: volunteer actions, participation in various circles, performances, events.
The final part of the event was a meeting of applicants with representatives of faculties. Together with the deans, their deputies and future teachers, they inspected the material and technical base and briefly immersed themselves in the educational process, imagining themselves as part of the SNAU family. Entrants met representatives of the student body, who shared their experience with admission, choosing a major, and adapting to studying at the university.
