INTERADIS is a European Union Erasmus+ QA 2 CBHE project to develop higher education capacity. The main goals of the international groups within the initiative are to exchange experience in working with international students and ensuring their adaptation to the new educational environment.
The project was launched in 2020. Since then, students and teachers of Sumy National Agrarian University have been able to learn from partner institutions in Lithuania, the Netherlands, Italy, and Germany.
Now INTERADIS is in its final stage. The results of the partners’ cooperation were summarized during the International Evenings festival for international students.
On May 17-18, at the KROK University in Kyiv, students had the opportunity to present the culture of their home country or the country that appeals to them the most. Participants from partner institutions joined offline and online and demonstrated song and dance performances and recited poetry. In general, the festival became a kind of platform for the exchange of cultures.
Sumy National Agrarian University, namely the folk dance ensemble “Vesna”, which operates on the basis of our educational institution, demonstrated the dance “Indian Spring”. Thanks to professionally practiced movements, the students managed to transport the audience to the culture of India. Dance in this country is not an ordinary set of movements, but a reflection of religion, the worship of God Shiva.
Liudmyla VARENYK, head of the SNAU Students and Postgraduates Union, who was present at the event, said that she was especially pleased and pleasantly surprised by the performances of foreign students. One of the applicants recited Vasyl Symonenko’s poem “Do You Know You’re Human?” in the original. Young people from Turkmenistan told the history of their country in Ukrainian.
The second day of the festival began with a presentation of KROK University, which celebrated its foundation day. Here, young people participated in interesting workshops and visited a charity fair. Later, they walked around Kyiv on a tour from ESN Kyiv, a student organization that represents foreign students to ensure international communication.
