SOLEMN ACADEMIC COUNCIL ON THE OCCASION OF THE NEW 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR START

On the eve of the start of the new 2024/2025academic year, members of the Academic Council gathered for a traditional, solemn meeting to discuss aspects of the educational process at Sumy National Agrarian University for the next year. Reports on the agenda:
1. Approval of the composition and approval of the work plan of the Academic Council of Sumy NAU in the

2. On the organisation of the educational process at Sumy NAU in the first (autumn) semester of the

3. On approval of the Regulations on the Advisor to the Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University

6. Presentation of certificates of associate professor, professor. Recognition of the best research and
teaching staff and students of the SNAU according to the results of 2023-2024 the academic year in the
nominations:
– Best Lecturer of the SNAU-2024;
– The best researcher of the SNAU-2024;
– The best student of SNAU-2024.
The participants heard a report by the Rector of Sumy NAU Ihor KOVALENKO – ‘Inauguration of the new 2024-2025 academic year: On the state of implementation of the university development strategy and tasks for the 2024-2025 academic year. The educational process of the first (educational) semester of the academic year 2024/2025 will begin on the second of September with maximum compliance with the safety requirements of the participants of the educational process.  The Academic Council also discussed the format of training at the beginning of the year. In pursuance of the letter of the Department of Education and Science of the Sumy Regional State Administration dated 30.08.2024 Nº 03.1-14/5017 ‘On the organisation of the educational process’, guided by the letter of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 17.05.2024 Nº 1 / 8722-24 ‘On preparation for the beginning and features of the organisation of the educational process in the 2024-2025academic year’, based on the decision of the Academic Council of the University dated 30. 08.2024, in Sumy NAU and VSP of professional colleges of SNAU during the month of September 2024-2025, the organisation of the educational process for all participants in the educational process of full-time and part-time distance learning was introduced until a special order.
In addition, they heard and discussed the report of Natalia KOLODENKO, Head of the Educational Department, ‘On the Languages of Instruction at Sumy NAU’, in accordance with the current Law of Ukraine ‘On Higher Education’ and the ‘Regulations on the Organisation of the Educational Process at Sumy NAU’. The Academic Council approved The language of instruction at Sumy National Agrarian University is Ukrainian. The language of instruction for foreign citizens in educational and professional programmes is English and German.
During the Academic Council, Ihor KOVALENKO, Rector of Sumy NAU, had a pleasant mission to present awards to the best employees, partners and students. Tetiana KHARCHENKO was awarded a Doctor of Science degree in Public Administration. Asol SHULZHENKO was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Justice and Philosophy of the Law School. The academic title of associate professor of the Department of Breeding and Seed Production of the Faculty of Agrotechnology and Environmental Management was awarded to two people at once -Ivan SOBRAN and Mykola SAKHOSHKO. Volodymyr KRAVCHENKO was awarded the title of Associate Professor of the Department of Energy and Electrical Systems of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Mykhailo DUMANCHUK was promoted to Associate Professor of the Department of Technical Service of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Segriy ANDRUKH got a certificate of associate professor of the Department of Architecture and Engineering Research of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and
Transportation.

The Victory Harvest Charitable Foundation was awarded as the best ‘stakeholder’ for its fruitful cooperation with SNAU. The best college in 2023/2024 was named the Separate Structural Subdivision ‘Malovystoropskyi College named after P.S. Rybalka of Sumy National Agrarian University’, and the best school – ‘Krasnopil Lyceum No. 1 of Krasnopil Village Council’. Svitlana LUKASH, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Candidate of Economic Sciences, and Olena MELNIK, Senior Researcher of the Research Department, were recognised as the best research and teaching staff of Sumy National Agrarian University in the 2023/2024 academic year. The best students of SNAU for the last academic year also got awards and congratulations from the rector: Viktor VERBNIAK, a student of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Tetiana DOVBNIA, a student of the Faculty of Biology and Technology, Daria IVASHCHUK, a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport, Anna SYNIAHOVSKA, a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Taisiia NEIZHBORSH, a student of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Environmental Management, Anna KIRICHENKO, a student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Alyona POPOVA, a student of the Faculty of Food Technology, and Andrii BOIAR, a student of the Faculty of Law. The first-year students also received their first grades. They took to the stage: Valeria POLAZHCHENKO, a student of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Nature Management, majoring in agronomy; Svetlana USTIMENKO, a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management, majoring in marketing; Pavel NEMYNYI, a student of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Vladyslava BORYSENKO, a student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Anna SKOCHKO, a student of the Faculty of Law, Kseniia OMELCHUK, a student of the Faculty of Food Technology, Vladyslava OVERCHENKO, a student of the Faculty of Biology and Technology, and Danylo Hrynko, a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport.
