The “MediaMove” forum of the “Ukrainian Students’ League” took place in Kyiv. The main purpose of the forum is to help various bodies of student self-government of higher education institutions of Ukraine with managing their media resources and setting up communication channels with students.
Sumy National Agrarian University was represented by three girls. Two students from the Faculty of Economics and Management traveled from the student rectorate: Mariia PETUKHOVA – Student vice-rector for educational and scientific and international work, who studies in the 3rd year of the “Marketing” specialty, and Ilona SAIKO – student vice-rector for career guidance and information work, who studies in the 2nd year of the “Entrepreneurship specialty and trade”. Another participant from SNAU – Olha YEREMENKO, a student and member of the student self-government of the Faculty of Construction and Transport, 1st year of the “Architecture” specialty.
The forum was built in such a way as to give the participants the opportunity to get to know each other personally and learn from the speakers’ experience.
Networking conditions were created for those present, where it was comfortable and interesting for them to cooperate in a small circle of people – representatives of the student self-government were divided into groups in which they discussed various issues related to their activities. After that, they were joined by mentors who talked about the skills of working in the media, which will help in solving the problems of student government bodies.
In the second part of the event, a practical component was prepared for students from all over the country. During two workshops, the teams were asked to write an action plan for the development of student self-government bodies through the media component and to prepare several texts for social networks. The mentors told their teams how to create high-quality materials that can attract the attention of students.
SNAU student Mariia PETUKHOVA says that she received purely positive emotions and impressions from the forum:
“I liked that they told me a lot of new information, dispelled myths about writing texts for social networks, told me how to correct mistakes with visual design, what to emphasize, that media needs a goal and the main meaning that we want to put into it, and then already style and garter to the appearance”
We are sure that the girls will use the acquired knowledge for the development of social networks of student self-government of SNAU!
