A two-day training on project management for young people from the Sumy community was held at SNAU. The event was held as part of the program “Support for the Youth Community of Sumy Region” implemented by the NGO “League of Changes” with the support of the Youth Policy Department of the Sumy City Council.
The main goal of the training was to address the problems and difficulties faced by young people. Thus, in two days, the participants listened to lectures on several topics: clustering “What problems do I see in the community?” and brainstorming “Options for solving problems.” In addition, the speakers shared their experience in implementing their own projects. The participants attended several information sessions: “Who organizes projects and why,” ‘The main components of any project,’ ‘How to implement a project,’ ‘Measuring project success,’ ”What resources are needed to implement a project.”
In addition, the participants had the opportunity to present their work on improving the lives of young people in Sumy region. Victoriia TOKAR, a student of the Law Faculty of Sumy NAU, also participated in the training. According to her, thanks to this meeting, active youth had the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills in creating effective projects:
“During the event, we had the opportunity to formulate our own project ideas to address the current problems of young people in the community. We presented them over 2 days and ranked the projects. It’s a great opportunity to bring our ideas to life and make the living environment better.”
In the future, the participants’ projects will be digitized and transferred to the training partner, the Youth Policy Department of Sumy City Council, to support their implementation.
