On the basis of the Weihenstephan-Trizdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT), an international internship “Business Management in the Agricultural Economy” was held within the framework of the international Erasmus+ project from June 2 to 6, 2025. Participants from Kyrgyzstan, Uganda, Cambodia, Laos, and seven Ukrainian higher education institutions joined the course. Sumy NAU was represented by Yurii Puhach, a lecturer at the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance.
The internship program included key aspects of modern agricultural management, working with data for decision-making, and mastering databases on the example of KTBL and LfL. The hosts of the event paid special attention to analytical tools: analysis of production profitability, cost structure, and cost-effectiveness assessment.
To consolidate the acquired knowledge, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the practical base of the Trisdorf educational center by visiting its advanced training and production facilities: HSWT International School, dairy and crop production and field research centers, and farms. This demonstrates the uniqueness of the educational center and its ability to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills through cooperation between the university and research farms for scientific work.
The event has become a powerful platform for further development of European best practices and international cooperation. The lively discussions included an exchange of views on pressing economic challenges in the agricultural sectors of the participating countries and a discussion of the potential for future interdisciplinary research projects.
At the end of the course, Yurii Puhach also had the opportunity to meet with students from Sumy National Agrarian University who are currently studying at Weihenstephan-Trisdorf University of Applied Sciences as part of academic mobility programs and gaining new knowledge and experience.
It was a great opportunity to communicate, exchange views and hear firsthand about their impressions of studying, the challenges they face, and, of course, the successes of which we are immensely proud. Their dedication, thirst for knowledge and resilience are inspiring!
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our partner Weihenstephan-Trizdorf University of Applied Sciences for the wonderful opportunity to gain new experience for all participants in the educational process – both students and teachers. Your example is of great value to us.
