On June 20, 2025, the first meeting of the Youth Council under the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine took place, headed by Minister Vitaliy Koval, which was also attended in person by a representative of the Sumy National Agrarian University.
The competition received 98 applications from students, agronomists, veterinarians, AI experts and even doctors of philosophy, 28 of which were accepted to form a team. Three candidates were submitted from Sumy NAU, who successfully passed the selection and became members of the Youth Council. Namely:
During the meeting, the participants, together with the Minister, discussed key areas in which the voice of youth is important: the issue was the rethinking of agricultural education and stereotypes about it, the launch of new educational and entrepreneurial models that will allow young scientists to conduct their own research and learn, the development of the “Young Farmer” program, the creation of innovative technological solutions; the strengthening of youth diplomacy, in particular in Africa, as well as participation in European integration processes.
All participants of the youth council joined forces to work on a better present, which will lead to a better future. The contribution of all of them must be qualitative and effective in order to achieve the set goals.
Sumy National Agrarian University is proud of young employees who strive for development and work on socially important things. This demonstrates the culture and mentality of the educational institution, because we care about what is happening in Ukraine and the world, and we are always ready to work to improve the situation.
We wish the Youth Council and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine good luck in their work! May everything planned be realized.
