On 24 June 2025, a memorandum of cooperation was officially signed between Sumy National Agrarian University and Sumyteploenergo LLC. This document confirms the intention of the parties to deepen partnerships, exchange experience and implement joint projects in the field of energy efficiency, ecology and innovative development.
Sumyteploenergo LLC is a company that operates the Sumy Heat and Power Plant and provides 3 million square metres of living space and nearly a thousand homes with hot water and heating.
The arrangements set out in the memorandum include research and innovation in the energy sector; participation of university students and teachers in practical projects and internships at the enterprise; joint implementation of environmental initiatives and educational programmes; and exchange of professional experience and knowledge between scientists and energy specialists.
The signing of the memorandum was an important step towards creating an effective platform for interaction between science, education and industry, which will contribute to the sustainable development of the region and the training of competitive specialists. The joint initiatives envisaged by the memorandum will combine the scientific potential of the university with the practical experience of the company to implement modern solutions in the energy sector.
