Representatives of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection visited Sumy National Agrarian University. The working visit of Serhii Zakharin, Deputy Head of the Service for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization, provided a platform for discussing prospects for joint activities in the field of veterinary medicine training and expanding opportunities for dual education.
The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection is the central executive body responsible for implementing state policy in the areas of veterinary medicine, food quality and safety control, and consumer protection.
Cooperation between Sumy National Agrarian University and the State Service is aimed at training highly qualified specialists capable to work in modern conditions of European food safety standards. The university provides students with access to modern diagnostic and laboratory equipment, and the service provides opportunities for internships and traineeships as part of dual education.
“We are convinced that quality education in the field of veterinary medicine is the key to a safe future for
the state. Our university has a strong foundation for training specialists who not only master modern
technologies but also have practical skills gained in cooperation with the State Service of Ukraine on Food
Safety and Consumer Protection,” said SNAU Rector Ihor Kovalenko.
The Chairman of the University’s Academic Council, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Ladyka emphasized the high interest of Sumy National Agrarian University in developing cooperation with the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection and its territorial bodies. He emphasized the university’s readiness to implement a wide range of joint educational and scientific projects aimed at strengthening the practical training of students, improving the professional competencies of future veterinarians, and introducing modern European standards into the veterinary medicine system.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation, exchange experience and participate in scientific and educational initiatives aimed at developing veterinary medicine and training a new generation of specialists. SNAU remains open to partnerships that ensure high-quality practical training andstreng then the human resource potential of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
