Being together and acting together: heads of trade unions of SNAU faculties about the most important thing in their work

Published: October 31, 2025

Student trade union committees of the faculties of Sumy National Agrarian University are not just representative bodies, but a real force that unites students around common ideas, support and active life. Their activities are aimed at protecting rights, organizing leisure, creating comfortable conditions for learning and development of young people. We talked to the heads of trade unions of SNAU faculties to learn about their priorities, favourite memories and advice to freshmen.

At the Faculty of Agrotechnology and Environmental Management, first-year student Andrii Rybalko sees the activation of student life and the creation of conditions in which each applicant will feel supported and involved as a priority. Among the warmest memories is the first experience of participating in the organization of a university event, when Andrii first felt the true team spirit and the power of unity. He advises freshmen not to be afraid to try new things, because each activity opens up opportunities and helps to find their place in university life.

At the Faculty of Biology and Technology, third-year student Yelyzaveta Malkova prioritizes ensuring social protection for students, creating safe learning conditions, and supporting the psychological well-being of young people. Her most vivid memories are associated with volunteer trips to an animal shelter
— moments of humanity, kindness, and unity. Yelyzaveta would advise her first-year self to believe more in her own strength, not to be afraid of new things, and to appreciate the opportunities that student life opens up.

At the Faculty of Construction and Transport, first-year student Nikita Sirobaba sets a goal to popularize the activities of the trade union so that every student understands who is behind the organization of trade union events and represents their interests. Nikita remembers the event “Time Travel,” which united the faculty in a festive atmosphere, the most. He advises first-year students to get involved in university activities even earlier and not miss the opportunity to develop together with the team.

At the Faculty of Economics and Management, third-year student Anna Antsibor focuses on energizing student life and protecting the rights of every student. Among her warmest memories are the “Spring Ball” and the “Charity Fair for Maslenitsa Day,” which became examples of the unity of the faculty. Anna advises first-year students not to be afraid to show initiative, to be open to new acquaintances, and to enjoy being a student — because this period is unique.

At the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, first-year student Liudmyla Mykhno believes that the main task of the trade union is to support students in all matters — from studies to everyday life. Liudmyla’s most vivid memory is participating in the first major event, which brought a lot of emotions and united the team. She advises first-year students not to hesitate — to take part in everything new, because this is how the most interesting stories begin.

At the Faculty of Food Technology, second-year student Anna Tkachenko identifies the main direction of establishing trust between students and the trade union committee so that the organization becomes a real “bridge of mutual understanding.” The most memorable moment for her was the “Time Travel” quest, which united the faculty. Anna advises her freshman not to be afraid, to be open, to ask for help, and to treat every initiative responsibly.

At the Faculty of Law, third-year student of reduced study Yelyzaveta Volkova continues the tradition of supporting and helping students. Among the most vivid memories is the festive event “Who is on top” for Valentine’s Day, which united the faculty. Yelyzaveta advises freshmen to leave their comfort zone, not to be afraid of new things, and boldly accept challenges that form character and leadership qualities.

Together we are strong! Each head of the faculty trade union of SNAU is an example of activity, responsibility, and love for their university. They are united by a common goal – to make student life brighter, more comfortable, and more meaningful.
