The SNAU Helping Hands student volunteer organization is actively operating at Sumy National Agrarian University, created in cooperation with student self-government bodies, the student union and with the support of the department for organizing educational work with students. Its activities are aimed at developing a culture of volunteerism, charity and social responsibility among the youth of the university.
The organization unites active, proactive and caring students of SNAU who strive to help others, do good deeds and form a community of mutual support around themselves. The main goal of SNAU Helping Hands is to promote the development of the volunteer movement at the university, involve students in charitable initiatives, help those who need attention and care, as well as increase the civic consciousness of young people.
The participants of the organization have already implemented a number of important initiatives that have become an example of true mutual assistance and humanity. Volunteers visited and congratulated the children of the orphanage in Khoruzhivka on Children’s Day, giving the little ones a holiday, attention and sincere emotions. This action has become a symbol of kindness and compassion that unites generations.
An important part of SNAU Helping Hands’ activities is blood and plasma donation. University students have repeatedly joined donations at the Biopharma Plasma center, demonstrating an example of a conscious civic position and concern for human lives.
The organization’s volunteers have also repeatedly organized toloki, during which, together with caring students and teachers, they cleaned the university territory after enemy shelling, arranged squares and streets. These initiatives not only improve the environment, but also strengthen the sense of community and mutual support.
A separate area of activity is participation in weaving camouflage nets for the defenders of Ukraine. Students regularly join joint actions, conveying their warmth and gratitude to the military through their own work. In addition, volunteers actively cooperate with the Red Cross Society, participating in trainings on first aid and information campaigns aimed at raising awareness among young people about providing assistance in emergency situations.
Volunteering is an integral part of SNAU life. The SNAU Helping Hands organization has become a center of good deeds, where students have the opportunity to show initiative, implement their ideas and help those in need. The active participation of university youth in volunteer initiatives is a manifestation of civic maturity, patriotism and sincere humanity, which form the basis of a strong and responsible community.
