Sumy National Agrarian University is expanding the range of socially responsible educational initiatives, creating real opportunities for those who need support and a new professional start. At the end of November, free training in the profession of “Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Repair Mechanic” will begin at the Hlukhiv Agrotechnical Vocational College of SNAU for people with disabilities and those discharged from military service – those who, after difficult life circumstances, seek to obtain a sought-after speciality and return to active professional activity.
The program is implemented within the framework of the international project “Skills for Inclusion: Workplace Training to Activate Vulnerable Groups”, which is implemented by the public organization “Ukrainian Professional Development” with financial support from the European Union, Germany, Poland, Estonia and Denmark within the framework of the multi-donor initiative Skills4Recovery, which is implemented by GIZ and Solidarity Fund PL. SNAU became one of the institutions selected to participate in the project, confirming its reputation as a university capable of providing high-quality practice-oriented and inclusive education.
The training will last 20 weeks in a mixed format: the theoretical part will take place online, and practical training will be based on the college’s production workshops. The first group of 15 participants aged 37 to 54 has already been formed. A team of professional support has been created for them – an integration coach, recruiter and psychologist, who will support the educational process from the moment of enrolment to passing the state qualification certification.
Program participants will receive:
This makes the project not just a training course, but a full-fledged professional recovery program that helps people return to a sense of stability, self-confidence and the opportunity to build a future on new foundations.
“For us, this is not a formality or a number in the report — it is about faith in people and a real opportunity to start over. We work to ensure that each participant receives not only knowledge, but also confidence, support and prospects,” said Oleksandr Deshchenko, Deputy Director for Educational and
Production Work and Project Coach.
The initiative of the Hlukhiv Agrotechnical Vocational College of SNAU is a vivid example of how education can change lives and support those who need a new point of support. Sumy National Agrarian University will continue to develop social action programs, support veterans, people with disabilities, Ukrainians who have lost their jobs, and all those who seek professional rethinking and moving forward.
