Published: November 28, 2025

On November 25, an interfaculty quiz battle was held at Sumy National Agrarian University, dedicated to the topic of academic integrity. Student teams from all faculties joined the intellectual competition, demonstrating a high level of preparation and interest in the topic of academic responsibility.

The event was held within the framework of the Week of Academic Integrity, which lasts at SNAU from November 24 to 28. Academic integrity is one of the key components of the quality of education, and the university is convinced that its provision is impossible without the conscious responsibility of all participants in the educational process. That is why SNAU implements consistent and systematic measures aimed at strengthening the culture of honest learning and scientific work.

During the competition, participants performed tasks that covered the issues of citation rules, prevention of plagiarism and self-plagiarism, ethical use of artificial intelligence, as well as a responsible attitude to research results. The team game format created conditions for exchanging ideas, analyzing situations, and making joint decisions.

The victory in the quiz battle was won by the team of the Faculty of Biology and Technology. The second place was taken by the team of the Faculty of Agrotechnology and Environmental Management, and the third place was taken by representatives of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. All participants demonstrated the depth of knowledge, the balance of answers, and the ability to work in team interaction.

Head of the Department of Education Quality, Licensing, and Accreditation Olena Rybina noted:
It is gratifying that students are confidently oriented in matters of academic integrity and are able to apply these principles in practice. Such events are not only an intellectual competition, but also the development of communication, responsibility, and the ability to cooperate. After all, integrity is manifested where a person honestly recognizes difficulties and does not appropriate other people’s achievements.”

The quiz battle was just one of the events aimed at strengthening the culture of academic integrity at SNAU. A number of other activities are planned during the Week that will contribute to the formation of a responsible academic community and increase the awareness of students and faculty.
