Today, the world celebrates International Volunteer Day — a day that brings together people whose compassion and willingness to help change the lives of communities. On this occasion, the Sumy City Council honoured representatives of the volunteer movement and community organisations. The staff of Sumy National Agrarian University was awarded an honorary certificate from the mayor.
The award was given for the university community’s systematic participation in volunteer activities, implementation of social initiatives, and significant contribution to supporting community residents. Olesia Kisterna got the certificate on behalf of SNAU.
Sumy National Agrarian University has been actively involved in the volunteer movement of the Sumy community for many years. Employees and students participate in charity events and fundraisers, support the military, help victims and vulnerable groups, and initiate socially important projects. Such activities are evidence of the unity and responsibility of the university community.
In his greeting, Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar expressed his gratitude.
“You come where it hurts, where it’s scary, where people need support. You appear where there is not enough strength, but you find it again and again. May Victory come sooner, and your help bring joy and be carried out where smiles and peace reign.”
SNAU congratulates its volunteers on International Volunteer Day and thanks the Sumy City Council for its high appreciation of the team’s work. The university will continue to support initiatives aimed at helping those in need.
