Winter School 2026 at SNAU: a week that helped applicants choose their future profession

Published: January 29, 2026

From January 5 to 9, Sumy National Agrarian University hosted the SNAU 2026 Winter School, a career guidance event for high school students. The event was aimed at familiarizing students with the university’s educational opportunities and modern educational environment and became an effective platform for communication between future applicants and the university community, combining practice, science, and live communication.

This is not the first time that Sumy National Agrarian University has held a Winter School. Every year, this format proves its effectiveness, as after participating in the event, more and more motivated, interested, and ambitious applicants enter the university, consciously choosing their future profession and educational path.

The goal of this year’s SNAU Winter School was career guidance, promoting new university educational programs, and helping high school students with their professional self-determination. The event was held in a mixed format — offline at the university and online, which made it possible to attract as many participants as possible from different communities and regions.

The Faculty of Economics and Management offered participants an introduction to the concept of “learning by doing,” teamwork on business ideas, practical case studies, strategic sessions, and final project pitching. Applicants had the opportunity to try their hand at being future entrepreneurs and managers by working on real business tasks.

The Faculties of Agrotechnology and Environmental Management, Veterinary Medicine, and Food Technology showed participants modern laboratories, equipment, and practical approaches to learning. High school students took part in interactive activities, master classes, and technology demonstrations, learning about microclonal plant propagation, the basics of veterinary practice, and food technology. The law, biology and technology, engineering and technology faculties, as well as the construction and transport faculty, prepared educational quizzes, training sessions, quest tours, and practical classes for the participants. The students had the opportunity to visit educational laboratories, learn about specialties, modern equipment, and practical training formats.

Participants noted that the Winter School impressed them with its range of opportunities, diversity of educational programs, and modern approach to learning. High school students emphasized that they gained a comprehensive understanding of the university, its faculties, and educational prospects, and that their doubts about choosing a higher education institution disappeared.

The SNAU Winter School is a powerful career guidance platform that helps attract future students to the university community from their school years. Sumy National Agrarian University sincerely thanks all participants and organizers of the event for their activity, interest, and joint work on shaping the educational future of young people.
