During the week, Sumy National Agrarian University held a parade of elective disciplines for first- and second-year students. The event was organized by the Department of Education Quality, Licensing, and Accreditation of SNAU in collaboration with the university’s scientific and pedagogical staff to familiarize students with the list of educational components available for free choice.
The parade was an important element in the implementation of student-centered learning principles. The event was aimed at shaping the individual educational trajectories of higher education students, increasing their awareness of the content, practical orientation, and expected learning outcomes of elective disciplines, as well as creating conditions for informed and responsible choices.
During the meetings, students were presented with humanities disciplines aimed at developing communication, leadership, and worldview competencies. In particular, they discussed courses in contemporary world politics, Ukrainian studies, public speaking, business communication, cultural studies, strategic communications and leadership, ethics, and imageology. Teachers emphasized the practical application of knowledge, the development of critical thinking, the ability to work in a team, and effective communication in various professional environments.
Special attention was paid to university-wide disciplines, in particular the study of foreign languages. Students were presented with opportunities to study English at various levels of proficiency using modern communication techniques, interactive technologies, and practice-oriented approaches, which are important for future professional realization in an international environment.
The parade of elective disciplines confirmed the desire of the SNAU to create a flexible, open, and student-oriented educational environment in which each applicant has the opportunity to shape their own educational path in accordance with their interests, abilities, and professional plans.
