A Meeting of the Academic Council was held at SNAU

On February 11, 2026, a meeting of the Academic Council was held at Sumy National Agrarian University, during which key issues related to the university’s scientific and educational activities were discussed.

One of the main items on the agenda concerned competitive nominations in the field of higher education and science. The Academic Council supported the candidacy of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Department of Genetics, Breeding and Animal Biotechnology Leontii Khmelnychyi for participation in the competition for the award of a Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Scholarship for Outstanding Achievements in Higher Education.

The Council also supported the submission of the scientific paper of Anna Helikh, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Food Technologies and Food Safety, for the Ihor Yukhnovskyi Award of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The presented research is devoted to the scientific and technological substantiation of the valorization of alternative protein systems in the development of eco-oriented next-generation products for the sustainable development of Ukraine.

A separate part of the agenda was devoted to the approval of regulations on the university’s research laboratories. The Academic Council approved regulations for ten laboratories, including the “One Health” Biosafety Laboratory, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Diagnostics Laboratory, Human Capital Research Laboratory, Geoinformation Analysis Laboratory, Sustainable Rural Development Laboratory, Low-Carbon Energy Infrastructure Laboratory, as well as several laboratories focused on innovative agrotechnologies, food safety, and soil research and remediation.

During the discussion members of the Academic Council emphasized the importance of active participation of SNAU’s academic staff in national competitions, scientific programs, and initiatives, which will contribute to strengthening the university’s position in the national educational and scientific space and to the development of applied research relevant to the country’s recovery.

The meeting was held in the shelter of the university’s main building in compliance with safety requirements. Decisions were adopted by secret ballot in the presence of a quorum.
