SNAU became a platform for youth practical training in activism, project management, and teamwork

Published: March 28, 2026

On March 14, a practical training session on activism, project management, and effective teamwork was held at Sumy National Agrarian University. The event was hosted by representatives of all-Ukrainian public organizations from Kharkiv — Maria Bogayenko, head of the Regional Initiatives Foundation, bachelor of political science, expert in communications and management in the non-profit sector, and Svitlana Zhmykhova, member of the FRI Council of Elders, member of the NUMO board, and producer of educational projects.

The training brought together active youth of the Sumy region who are interested in civic engagement,
developing leadership competencies, and participating in public initiatives. SNAU served as a
comfortable and safe location for the event, creating a space for open dialogue, exchange of
experiences, and practical training.

During the meeting, participants learned about the opportunities of the public sector for youth, tools for civic participation, and principles of youth organizations. The speakers paid special attention to the issues of team interaction, the distribution of roles in projects, the organization of effective communication and the management of joint work.

In the practical part of the training, the participants considered the basics of project management, in particular the stages of project implementation – from idea formation and planning to implementation and evaluation of results. The young people also performed interactive exercises, worked in teams to create their own initiatives and presented the first steps for implementing projects in their communities.

The event contributed to the development of teamwork skills, critical thinking and project planning, and also became an opportunity for young people to establish new professional contacts and join active public activities.

Conducting such trainings at SNAU is an important element of supporting youth initiatives and creating an environment in which students and young people in the region can develop leadership qualities, gain practical knowledge and participate in the implementation of socially important projects.
