Researchers from ukraine gathered at SNAU to promote the development of the agricultural economy

On  April 23, 2026, Sumy National Agrarian University hosted the final scientific and practical conference as part of the All-Ukrainian competition for student research papers in the field of ‘Agricultural Economics and the Agro-Industrial Complex’.

This event served as a platform for bringing together people from different parts of Ukraine – researchers and students from the west, east, south and centre – to address common challenges: the development of the agricultural sector, ensuring food security and a sustainable future for the country.

The conference featured a substantive academic discussion on:

  • innovative tools for agricultural development in the context of climate change
  • ensuring food safety and sustainable development
  • the development of integrated management systems for the agricultural sector under martial law and during Ukraine’s post-war recovery

Representatives from Ukraine’s leading universities joined the discussion:

It is precisely this wide geographical spread of participants that demonstrates how science today unites the country and shapes solutions for its recovery and development.

In 2026, the competition focused on the following areas:

  • the economics of the agro-industrial complex
  • agricultural management
  • agricultural marketing
  • sustainable development and food security
  • digital transformation and innovation in the agri-industrial complex

The competition brought together students, researchers and experts from various regions of Ukraine with the aim of advancing modern agricultural science and practice.

Together, we are shaping the intellectual foundation for Ukraine’s recovery and a new model for the development of the agricultural sector
