On May 7, 2026, Sumy National Agrarian University and the Department for Veterans Policy of the Sumy District State Administration – Sumy District Military Administration signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The document provides for the development of partnership cooperation in the fields of professional adaptation, education, retraining, and social support for war veterans, persons discharged from military service, as well as individuals with special merits to the Motherland.
The Memorandum was signed by SNAU Rector Ihor Kovalenko and Head of the Department for Veterans Policy of the Sumy District State Administration Oleh Solonar.
Within the framework of cooperation, the parties plan to implement joint educational, scientific and informational activities, facilitate veterans’ access to educational programs, vocational training and professional development opportunities; develop a system of career counseling and employment support. The agreement also provides the involvement of the university’s academic and research potential in developing programs for veterans’ professional adaptation and supporting their entrepreneurial initiatives.
Special attention will be paid to fostering a positive public attitude toward the role of veterans, implementing information campaigns, and disseminating best practices in the field of veterans’ policy.
The signing of the Memorandum became an important step toward strengthening cooperation between the educational sector and state authorities in order to support veterans, promote their professional development, and facilitate their successful integration into the social and economic life of the community and the country.
