SNAU joins the All-Ukrainian Accessibility Week

Published: May 30, 2026

Sumy National Agrarian University joins the All-Ukrainian Accessibility Week — an initiative aimed at creating a society of equal opportunities, in which every person has free access to education, information, services and public space, regardless of age, health status, physical, intellectual or social characteristics.

Today, Ukraine needs the development of a barrier-free environment more than ever. A full-scale war, an increase in the number of people who need additional support and accessible infrastructure, make the issue of creating a comfortable space for everyone more relevant.

Sumy National University of Science and Technology is consistently working on implementing the principles of barrier-free access on the university campus. In particular, ramps and lifts are being installed, information signs in Braille are being installed, special tactile paths are being created for people with visual impairments, and the accessibility of educational buildings and university infrastructure is being improved.

At the same time, accessibility is not only about physical space. It is also about a culture of mutual respect, support, openness and willingness to help those in need. It is human concern together with modern technologies that form a society in which everyone can realize their potential without obstacles and limitations.

SNAU supports the principles of inclusivity and equality and continues to work to create a safe, comfortable and accessible educational environment for all members of the university community.

SNAU has prepared a special video about a space in which barriers are becoming fewer and fewer for all participants in the educational process every day. You can watch it at the link.
