On June 17–19, 2026, Sumy National Agrarian University participated in the international Agro Ukraine Summit, which took place at the “Parkovy” Exhibition and Convention Center during AGRO UKRAINE WEEK. The event brought together over 2,000 representatives from government, business, and international organizations to discuss the development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector and global food security.
The summit was organized by ProAgro Group with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and agricultural associations. On the first day, participants heard addresses from Oleksiy Sobolev, Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and Oleksandr Haidu, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada’s Agricultural Committee. During panel discussions, experts analyzed the European integration of Ukrainian agribusiness, investment attraction, logistics, and digitalization.
SNAU was the only institution of higher education represented at this forum. At its branded booth in the AGRO UKRAINE Expo zone, the university presented its unique programs in agronomy, veterinary medicine, engineering, construction, biotechnology, food science, economics, and law.
Special emphasis was placed on joint projects with the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in the United Kingdom:
Master’s program in “Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security”: This program is designed in accordance with European standards. It trains specialists who will implement environmentally friendly and profitable technologies in production. Graduates of the program receive a dual British-Ukrainian degree, which opens the door to international careers.
The free online course “Sustainable Farming: Technologies, Profit, Innovations” is a practical tool for entrepreneurs and farmers. It was created as a quick source of knowledge for producers who work in the fields every day and feed the country, and therefore do not have time for lengthy in-person training.
During the summit, representatives of SNAU held a series of successful negotiations with international partners and business representatives. For our university, this is a significant achievement—to be competitive at this level despite our border location and daily challenges.
A modern agricultural enterprise cannot be effective without quality education and a scientific approach. That is precisely why SNAU participates in such summits. We strive not only to find new partners but also to engage the business community in jointly training new generations of agrarians who will eventually rebuild and modernize Ukraine.
