On June 29, Sumy National Agrarian University held a regular meeting of the Academic Council, during which key issues related to the university’s educational, research, and administrative activities were discussed, and a number of decisions regarding its further development were adopted.
At the beginning of the meeting, competitive selection cases were reviewed and the corresponding decisions were adopted.
A separate segment of the meeting was devoted to a report on the results of the accreditation of educational programs for the 2025–2026 academic year. Margarita LYSHENKO, Vice Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical, and Academic Affairs, delivered a report on this issue. All 13 educational programs that underwent accreditation were confirmed to meet the established requirements, and one educational and research program was awarded “exemplary” status. Based on the results of the discussion, further directions for improving the internal system of educational quality assurance and its development were identified.
Next, reports were heard from the deans of the faculties regarding the fulfillment of contractual obligations by academic and teaching staff, as well as the results of the activities of the faculties and structural units. During the discussion, areas for improving the effectiveness of the educational process and research at the university were identified.
The Academic Council approved the proposal to award named scholarships to students based on their performance in the spring semester of the 2025–2026 academic year.

Academic Secretary Anatoliy ROZUMENKO reported on the organization of the Academic Council’s work and the status of implementation of the adopted decisions.
Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee Viktor SERHIENKO presented the issue of delegating authority to approve decisions of the Sumy National Agrarian University Admissions Committee for 2026.
In the section on the organization of the educational process, a number of regulatory documents were reviewed and approved, including the Regulations on the Acceptance of Documents in Electronic Form via the “Diya.Sharing” service, the Regulations on the Educational and Practical Center for Mental Health, changes to the composition of project groups, continuing education programs, and recommendations for the publication of educational and methodological literature (presented by Marharita LYSHENKO, Vice Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical, and Academic Affairs).
Following the meeting of the Scientific and Coordination Council, Yurii DANKO, Vice Rector for Scientific and International Affairs, reported on scientific activities. The meeting addressed the recognition of faculty members and graduate students, the approval of the renovation project for the “Veretenivskyi” historic park, as well as a range of issues related to the training of PhD candidates, including reporting, changes in academic advisors, adjustments to dissertation topics, granting of academic leaves of absence, withdrawal from the program, the creation of ad hoc specialized academic councils, international internships, and recommendations for publication.
Separately, University Rector Ihor KOVALENKO presented issues related to infrastructure development, specifically the reorganization of the vivarium.
The meeting of the Academic Council confirmed the university’s systematic efforts to improve the quality of education, develop scientific potential, and refine management processes.
