On August 23, Ukraine celebrates National Flag Day—a symbol that embodies our history, freedom, dignity, and resilience. Today, the blue-and-yellow flag flies over Ukraine’s cities and villages, uniting military personnel and civilians, those who remain at home, and those who continue to represent Ukraine around the world.
For the Sumy region, the blue-and-yellow flag holds special significance. It is a symbol of a region that demonstrates resilience in the face of Russian aggression every day and continues to work, learn, develop, and build a future despite all challenges.
At Sumy National Agrarian University, the National Flag of Ukraine is an integral part of university life. Ceremonies, freshman orientation, graduation ceremonies, sports competitions, international meetings, and numerous student initiatives take place under its banner. It serves as a reminder of what matters most: all our knowledge, research, professional dreams, and daily work have meaning in a free and independent Ukraine.
Today, the blue-and-yellow flag is particularly closely associated with the concept of freedom. Ukrainian defenders—both men and women—fight every day for the opportunity to live, study, work, and dream under it.
