Sumy National Agrarian University successfully passed the competitive selection process and became a participant in the international Bologna Hub Peer Support Plus (BHPS+) program, which is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ program and coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This opens up new opportunities for the university’s strategic development, strengthens its integration into the European Higher Education Area, and expands international cooperation.
Bologna Hub Peer Support Plus is an international expert support program that helps higher education institutions implement strategic changes, improve educational processes, strengthen institutional capacity, and develop international partnerships. As part of the program, universities receive personalized guidance from leading European experts who help identify priority areas for development, adapt best practices from the European Higher Education Area, and implement them while taking into account the specific characteristics of each institution.
Throughout the consultation cycle, the SNAU team will work together with international experts to improve the three-tier system of higher education, promote international academic mobility, internationalizing the educational process, creating joint educational programs with foreign higher education institutions, and expanding opportunities for dual academic supervision for PhD candidates.
The program is expected to last approximately 12–18 months. During this period, international experts will make working visits to SNAU, hold consultations with the university team, and support the implementation of the identified areas of development. This format of cooperation will not only provide expert recommendations but also allow for the effective adaptation of best European practices to the needs of the university and the Ukrainian higher education system.
Participation in the Bologna Hub Peer Support Plus program is another step for SNAU toward deepening international cooperation and integration into the European Higher Education Area. Working with international experts will help modernize educational programs, develop international partnerships, enhance the university’s institutional capacity, and create new opportunities for students, graduate students, and faculty and staff.
