How SNAU’s faculties introduced themselves to prospective students

Published: September 21, 2026

During the first half of July, the faculties of Sumy National Agrarian University took part in a career guidance video contest. Its main goal was to create modern, authentic, and engaging content that would help prospective students learn more about the faculties, student life, and the opportunities offered by studying at SNAU.

According to the contest rules, each faculty was required to produce one video lasting up to one minute. Participants creatively described their majors, the academic experience, the university atmosphere, practical training, student initiatives, and the advantages of their chosen faculty, encouraging prospective students to choose SNAU.

The contest entries were evaluated by a jury consisting of:

  • Vita Tkachenko, Head of the Department of Career Guidance and Pre-University Preparation;
  • Viktoria Zayarna, Head of the Department of Student Affairs;
  • Yulia Kishinets, Director of the Media Center;
  • Andriy Makarenko, Student Rector.

Several key criteria were taken into account during the evaluation: the video’s ability to motivate applicants to choose that particular faculty and SNAU, alignment with the university’s values and reputation, the quality and modernity of the visual design, as well as creativity, authenticity, and the ability to convey the true atmosphere of student life.

An awards ceremony for the participants was held on July 17. The winners received gift certificates worth 3,000 UAH, 2,000 UAH, and 1,000 UAH for “Shnobel,” a restaurant serving hearty meals:

  • 1st place — Faculty of Food Technology;
  • 2nd place — Faculty of Construction and Transportation;
  • 3rd place — Faculty of Economics and Management.

In addition to the main awards, the jury recognized the faculties in special categories:

  • Faculty of Veterinary Medicine — “Audience Favorite” (for the highest number of likes);
  • Faculty of Law — “Voice of the Audience” (for the highest number of comments);
  • Faculty of Biology and Technology — “Science in Action” (for the best combination of theory and practice);
  • Faculty of Economics and Management — “Team Spirit” (for the highest level of participant engagement in creating the video);
  • Faculty of Construction and Transportation — “A World of Opportunities” (for the best presentation of facilities and equipment);
  • Faculty of Food Technology — “An Inspiring Profession” (for the most compelling career guidance message).

The contest demonstrated once again that the people who experience university life firsthand are best suited to tell its story. It is precisely these videos—sincere, dynamic, and created out of love for their respective departments—that help prospective students see SNAU as its current students know it: modern, open, and full of opportunities.
