Sumy National Agrarian University continues to train specialists who are already contributing to Ukraine’s recovery. Yaroslav Podliniaev, a student in the Faculty of Construction and Transportation studying in the “Highways and Transportation Structures” program, successfully passed the competitive selection process for the all-Ukrainian RE: Generation youth internship program and became the sole representative of the Sumy region among the participants of the three-day training camp.
The RE: Generation program is implemented by the State Agency for Infrastructure Reconstruction and Development of Ukraine with the support of the EU4Reconstruction project. Its goal is to engage young professionals in the nation’s reconstruction efforts, familiarize them with the industry, and help shape a new generation of professionals who will work on developing Ukraine’s modern infrastructure.
During the three-day camp, participants learned about the activities of the Recovery Agency, worked with leading experts in the field, took part in thematic sessions, visited reconstruction sites in the Kyiv region and the State Research Institute of Infrastructure, and worked on team projects aimed at finding modern solutions for the development of Ukraine’s transportation infrastructure.
After successfully completing the first phase of the program, Yaroslav began an internship at the Infrastructure Recovery and Development Service in Sumy Oblast, where he is gaining practical experience working on real-world infrastructure projects and learning about the specifics of how the sector operates during wartime.
The participation of an SNAU student in the RE: Generation program once again confirms the high level of training of the university’s future engineers and the practical focus of the educational programs offered by the Faculty of Construction and Transportation. For young people, this is an opportunity to work alongside industry professionals while still in school, and for the university, it is further proof that its graduates and students are already becoming part of the team that is rebuilding Ukraine.
