On October 1, Ukraine marks the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. For Sumy National Agrarian University, this is a special day, as every opportunity we have to study, work, grow, explore new horizons, and achieve success exists thanks to our Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Every day, Ukrainian soldiers defend our nation, doing the possible and the impossible for its future. Among them are our students and graduates who joined the ranks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. We are immensely proud of their courage and bravery; we pray for the life of each one of them and await their return home.
Tragically, dozens of individuals who pursued their education at SNAU have lost their lives defending Ukraine. We owe them our lives and remember them every day—not only at 9:00 a.m. during the national minute of silence, but also when we take our first steps, when we are afraid, and when we are happy. Each of them remains in our hearts forever.
It is with deep pain that we acknowledge how the war has taken away not only lives but also futures. The world has lost top-tier professionals across various fields—talented individuals who could have achieved so much more for their families, the university, and Ukraine. We are sincerely grateful to each of them for their heroic sacrifice, and we will forever cherish their memory.
We wish our defenders robust health, strength, resilience, and good fortune in every battle and at every step of the way. May you have reliable brothers- and sisters-in-arms by your side, and may your return home—where your loved ones await you—always remain your most important goal.
Thanks to you, we live, learn, work, and grow, while instilling in the new generation the very values for which you stand firm to the very end.
