A Seminar on the Development of Educational Programs and Curricula for 2026 Held at SNAU

On February 11, a seminar “Key Aspects of Developing Educational Programs and Curricula in 2026” was held at Sumy National Agrarian University. The event was organized by Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical, and Educational Work Marharyta Lyshenko. The event was attended by faculty deans, educational program guarantors, deputy deans for educational work, and heads of departments.

The purpose of the seminar was to discuss the specific features of developing and updating educational programs and curricula in accordance with the requirements of higher education standards and the university’s internal quality assurance system.

Olena Rybina, Head of the Department of Education Quality Assurance, Licensing, and Accreditation, and Nataliia Kolodnenko, Head of the Academic Department, made reports on the topic. In their presentations they outlined the key requirements for the structure and content of educational programs and curricula, the specific principles for defining program learning outcomes in accordance with higher education standards, as well as approaches to determining the list of educational components and elective courses. Special attention was paid to the proposals of stakeholders when reviewing educational programmes and preparing educational documentation within the framework of internal quality assurance procedures.

The participants also discussed the requirements for the formatting of curricula for 2026, the procedures for coordination and approval of educational programs, and organizational aspects of preparing documentation for accreditation processes.

As a result of the seminar, further steps for updating educational programs were defined, deadlines for submitting draft curricula were agreed upon, and methodological recommendations were provided to the university’s structural units.

The organization of such events contributes to improving the quality of educational activities, enhancing internal planning procedures, and ensuring the alignment of educational programs with current requirements and the needs of both students and the labor market.
