The community of Sumy National Agrarian University has always treated public holidays with special respect and attention. That is why, on the eve of the holidays, the Department for Organizing Educational Work with Students of SNAU and representatives of the OSS held a number of thematic events aimed at supporting the patriotic spirit of students.
The photo flash mob “Under the blue sky among golden dreams” united those who for various reasons cannot be with us on social networks. Students and teachers, as well as representatives of various departments, shared symbolic warm pictures showing their love for the country, its people and traditions. The posts were united by a common hashtag: #UnderTheBlueSkyGoldenDreams_SNAU
Invited representatives of the NGO “Girls” held a thematic workshop on creating rag dolls. The handmade activity in a friendly circle contributed to an interesting conversation about the history and curiosities associated with the creation of amulets. Most of the participants chose the symbolic blue and yellow threads of the national colours for their dolls, as well as our branded green threads.
An integral part of statehood is the language, which is preserved not only in memory and conversations, but also in books. That is why the library representatives created an installation symbolizing the rejection of Russian books and held a discussion on the topic “Quarantine, the Russian Word.” During the lively discussion, students discussed the importance of the Ukrainian language and support for modern culture, as well as the danger posed by the content of a hostile country.
The most striking event was the Patriot Games, a relay race organized by the Department of Physical Education between two inter-faculty teams: blue and yellow. The program included various types of team time trials, darts, and a tug-of-war, which was the final stage. The yellow team won, and all participants, organizers and support group received a lot of emotions and a lot of memories captured in atmospheric photos.
We are sincerely happy to be able to publish news about our unity and consciousness. We thank everyone who participated in last week’s events. The SNAU community is a huge, friendly family, for which our native Ukraine has a special place in our hearts.
