Academic Council of 25.03.2024

On March 25, 2024, a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council was held at Sumy National Agrarian University.

The following issues were on the agenda:

  1. On the results of work in 2023 and prospects for the development of the Faculty of Biology and Technology (speaker: Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Technology Victoriia VECHORKA)
  2. On the results of work in 2023 and prospects for the development of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (speaker: Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Oleksandr NECHYPORENKO)
  3. On the results of the winter test and examination session of the 2023-2024 academic year (speaker: Vice-Rector for  Academic and Educational Work Ihor KOVALENKO)
  4. On the peculiarities of admission of applicants to the university in 2024 (speaker: Executive Secretary of the Admission Committee Viktor SERHIIENKO)

Before hearing the reports, the members of the Academic Council elected a counting commission consisting of Oksana SHKROMADA, Mykhailo SHULIAK, and Svitlana SHESTAKOVA. The members voted to approve the list of candidates for participation in the competition for the filling of academic positions at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transportation, the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and the Faculty of Law. All candidates were supported unanimously.

In addition, during the Academic Council, SNAU Rector Volodymyr LADYKA and Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work Ihor KOVALENKO had the opportunity to congratulate former Vice-Rector for Science Oleksii ZHATOV, who held the position from 1979 to 1996, on his birthday. Volodymyr LADYKA says that Oleksii Hnatovych’s contribution to the development of the Sumy branch of the Kharkiv Dokuchaev Agricultural Institute at that time is difficult to overestimate:

“We recall with great gratitude the times when Oleksii Hnatovych worked. The time of development is the time of sustainability. Oleksii Hnatovych supported the principles, supported the fact that the university should be engaged in applied science, produce results for those who are closest to us, in our case – for agrarians.”

The current Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs Yurii Danko, who has also dedicated his entire life to the university, rising from student to Vice-Rector and Professor, was also congratulated on his birthday.
