On March 25, 2024, a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council was held at Sumy National Agrarian University.
The following issues were on the agenda:
5.1. Issues of scientific work (speaker: Head of the Department of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Svitlana YAROSHCHUK)
5.2. On the approval of educational programs for the academic year 2023-2024
5.3. On approval of the Regulations on certification of teaching staff of Sumy National Agrarian University
5.4. On amendments to the Regulations on the organization of studying disciplines of free choice (speaker: Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work Ihor KOVALENKO)
5.5. Strategy for implementing the introduction of an electronic library at SNAU (speaker: Director of the Library Halyna Komlykova; Head of the Department of Cybernetics and Informatics Svitlana AHADZHANOVA)
5.6. On the support of candidates for election as a corresponding member, full member (academician) of the NAAS of Ukraine (speaker: Scientific Secretary Yevheniia SAMOKHINA)
Before hearing the reports, the members of the Academic Council elected a counting commission consisting of Oksana SHKROMADA, Mykhailo SHULIAK, and Svitlana SHESTAKOVA. The members voted to approve the list of candidates for participation in the competition for the filling of academic positions at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transportation, the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and the Faculty of Law. All candidates were supported unanimously.
In addition, during the Academic Council, SNAU Rector Volodymyr LADYKA and Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work Ihor KOVALENKO had the opportunity to congratulate former Vice-Rector for Science Oleksii ZHATOV, who held the position from 1979 to 1996, on his birthday. Volodymyr LADYKA says that Oleksii Hnatovych’s contribution to the development of the Sumy branch of the Kharkiv Dokuchaev Agricultural Institute at that time is difficult to overestimate:
“We recall with great gratitude the times when Oleksii Hnatovych worked. The time of development is the time of sustainability. Oleksii Hnatovych supported the principles, supported the fact that the university should be engaged in applied science, produce results for those who are closest to us, in our case – for agrarians.”
The current Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs Yurii Danko, who has also dedicated his entire life to the university, rising from student to Vice-Rector and Professor, was also congratulated on his birthday.
