All-Ukrainian online conference dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster

Sumy National Agrarian University invites scientists, scientific and pedagogical workers, educators, postgraduate students, students and all interested parties to participate in the All-Ukrainian online conference “Chernobyl Bells”, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.

Date of holding: April 28, 2026
Format: online (Zoom platform)
Participation and publication of materials are free

The goal of the conference is an interdisciplinary understanding of the historical, environmental, scientific, medical and psychological, socio-economic and cultural consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, as well as modern challenges of nuclear and radiation safety.

Main thematic areas:

  • Chernobyl tragedy through the prism of the 20th–21st centuries
  • Nuclear and radiation safety in conditions of military conflicts
  • Radioecological and radiochemical research, environmental monitoring
  • Medical-psychological, socio-economic and educational consequences of the disaster
  • Biodiversity and conservation in conditions of crises
  • Chernobyl in scientific discourse, culture and public memory

Deadline for registration and submission of abstracts: April 10, 2026.

All conference participants will receive certificates and an electronic collection of materials following the
event.
