On February 16, Sumy National Agrarian University celebrated Maslyana, which united students, teachers and staff around Ukrainian traditions, creativity and charitable initiatives. It is symbolic that the event took place on the Day of Unity of Ukraine – in an atmosphere of mutual support, solidarity and common faith in good changes.
The festive program was opened by a bright choreographic performance by the folk dance ensemble “Spring”, which created a warm atmosphere and set a festive mood for the entire event. Throughout the day, thematic locations of the faculties with traditional delicacies, creative treats and handmade products operated on the territory of the university. Everyone who wanted could join the charity fair and support the volunteer initiatives of the university community “Under the Wing of Good SNAU”.
The Rector of SNAU Ihor Kovalenko addressed the university community with a welcoming speech, thanking the students and staff for their activity, concern and joint work for good deeds. A special highlight of the event was the charity auction of the “rector’s pancake” — a symbol of generosity, support, and unity of the university family. The exclusive lot was sold for 1,250 hryvnias.
As part of the holiday, the winners of the photo contests “Autumn in the Heart of SNAU” and “Winter Comfort of SNAU” were awarded, which conveyed the atmosphere of university life at different times of the year. In addition, the participants of the event took part in thematic competitions, sports entertainment, and a charity lottery. The lottery partners were the chains of stores “Dary Moria” and “Koshyk”, as well as the confectioneries “MOco Bakery” and “La Fit Bakery”.
According to the results of the charity fair, the total amount of funds raised amounted to 75 thousand hryvnas. The largest contribution was made by the Faculty of Biology and Technology, which received the honorary distinction “Leader of Charity” for active participation and initiative.
Maslyana at SNAU became a true celebration of unity, creativity, and good deeds. The university community once again proved: together we create a space of support, warmth, and interaction, where traditions are combined with modern initiatives and shared responsibility for good changes.
