LECTURE “PECULIARITIES OF ACADEMIC WRITING IN POLAND”

Sumy National Agrarian University together with the Cuiavian University in Włocławek initiated a lecture on “Peculiarities of academic writing in Poland”. The event was held with the support of the Center for Ukrainian-European Scientific Cooperation.

The lecture was held on January 23, 2023 online.

Doctor of Laws, Professor, Head of the Department of Administrative and Information Law of Sumy National Agrarian University I. ARISTOVA opened the event with a welcome speech.

Joanna SKIBA, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Head of the International Office of the Cuiavian University in Włocławek, Expert in the Field of Education and e-Learning for Adults, briefed the audience on the peculiarities of academic writing in Poland. The lecturer emphasized the following issues:

  • the law in force in Poland related to academic writing;
  • evaluation of the scientific level and scoring method;
  • the most common types of magazines;
  • what a scientific article should be;
  • the issue of plagiarism in science.

At the end, those present summed up the results and held a scientific discussion.
