Meeting of the Academic Council of SNAU on September 29, 2025

On September 29, 2025, a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council of Sumy National Agrarian University was held, which became an important event for the entire team. The event combined a solemn honoring of employees on the occasion of the Day of Education Workers and consideration of strategic issues of the university’s activities.

In his welcoming speech, the rector of SNAU Ihor Kovalenko emphasized the significance of the team’s contribution:
I am sincerely proud of your achievements. Thank you for your daily work, the implementation of important projects and the development of education. Your contribution is invaluable, and its impact on colleagues and students is extremely significant.

For many years of conscientious work and fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity, Larysa Kalachevska, professor of the Department of Public Management and Administration, was awarded an honorary diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The Rector’s gratitude for high professionalism, dedication and implementation of innovative teaching methods was awarded to:

  • Viktoria Ivchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Biotechnology and Chemistry;
  • Dmytro Kisil, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Veterinary and Sanitary Inspection, Microbiology, Hygiene and Pathological Anatomy;
  • Oksana Melnyk, Head of the Department of Food Technology;
  • Valentyna Mushtay, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing and Logistics;
  • Viacheslav Popsui, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Biology and Technology;
  • Viktor Rudenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Transport Technologies;
  • Olena Teslenko, PhD student in the specialty “Industrial Mechanical Engineering”;
  • Olha Kurhan, Methodologist of the Highest Category of the Educational and Practical Center;
  • Marina Chernova, Methodologist of the Educational Department;
  • Oleksandr Illenko, director of the Romenskyi Vocational College of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

For their conscientious work, high-quality preparation of applicants and significant contribution to creating a positive image of the university, the following were awarded the Rector’s thanks:

  • Lyudmyla Bondareva, Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Ecology and Botany;
  • Viktoriia Zaiarna, Ph.D., senior lecturer of the Department of State and Legal Disciplines and Ukrainian Studies;
  • Angela Rozumenko, Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Higher Mathematics and Physics;
  • Mykola Mykhailichenko, Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of State and Legal Disciplines and Ukrainian Studies.

The artistic atmosphere of the holiday was created by the dance ensemble “Spring” under the direction of Olha Hetmanenko.

After the ceremonial part, the members of the Academic Council considered a number of strategic issues regarding the work of the university.

Within the framework of competitive cases, the Academic Council decided to award the academic title of associate professor to three scientific and pedagogical workers:

  • Marina Oslopova (Department of Management named after Professor L.I. Mykhaylova),
  • Nataliia Prokopenko (Department of Geodesy and Land Management),
  • Farida Kharchenko (Department of Agricultural Engineering).

Also, the candidacies of young scientists for participation in the competition for a scholarship of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine were supported. Among them: Serhii Bokovets, Liudmyla Varenyk, Oksana Datsko, Dmytro Kisil, Oleksandr Savoiskyi, Vitalii Yatsenko.

Those present discussed the implementation of the decisions of the Academic Council regarding staffing and contractual obligations in the 2024–2025 academic year, the results of the implementation of the dual form of education, and the state of practical training of students at the university’s partner enterprises.

The deans of the faculties presented the directions of scientific research for the 2025–2026 academic year. Vice-rector for scientific, pedagogical and educational work Margarita Lyshenko raised the issue of organizing the educational process, and Vice-rector for scientific and international activities Yurii Danko raised the issue of developing scientific activity.

The meeting confirmed the effectiveness of collective work and confirmed the systematic and strategic approach of SNAU to the development of education and science.
